mid 17's??? dude, no offense cause you would do a whole lot better than me, but just learn to drive your car better. i'm not saying that in a bad way. i just mean there are COMPLETELY stock KA24DE's runnin like high 15's. i know i've heard that somewhere. i mean just work on your launch and shift points, cause i know you can do better:)

I ran a 15.8 in my 96 completly stock, with a clutch that was starting to go. Even if your car is auto is should run a little faster than that. Well good luck

ohhhh, you're an auto. aight, that makes it a little more understandable. i feel your pain about the auto. thats what my '95 has:( i think i'm fixin to buy a 5speed transmission for 250$. i don't know if i will yet, but i'm thinkin about it. i wouldn't put it in yet, just cause i would have to get all the other stuff i would need for the swap to take place. i figured i'd go ahead and get a JWT ECU since i'd have to get a new one anyway for the 5speed. i wanna take my car out to the track soon. but unfortunately i don't have my license yet. but i'll take it out there as soon as i get it!!

So you actually shift the first and second gear yourself with the auto? I heard thats pretty bad for your transmission.

I havent been to the track yet, but if I wanted to accelerate faster with my auto, I turn off the overdrive, which allows the 3rd gear to rev as high as you want, and then you can shift into fourth at your leisure by turning the OD back on (usually at 5000 to 5500 rpms).

Humidity sucks. I hate driving when its humid. I feel sluggish and my car feels sluggish.

Most of the time, cars with bad clutces do better than with a good clutch. Its like the old days when people used stall converters on automatics. It alows the engine rpms to build up with minimal tire spin, intern, "letting the wheels catch up with the motor", if you will, reliably.I ran better times with a bad clutch a few years ago then when i did with a new clutch afterwards.

As for the automatic, you actually can run better times with letting the transmission shift itself normally than by shifting it yourself. I have proved that to myself a few times anyway on an old 89 that i had. Automatic upgrades: You can, no matter what many people may say, have as much power from an auto as a stick or close. Like i was saying before, you can do many upgrades, but get a stall converter (performance torque converter). Many people sell them for less than what people would pay for a performance clutch. I think you would be quite suprised at the power potential from what you have now. Check into it.
