Well for everyone that wants to know actual emissions numbers for a Redtop SR20, I have them. Well I took out my test pipe and installed a stock cat between my 3in downpipe and my 2.5 in Apexi ehxaust. The redtop had no stock egr valve and my AIV has been removed along with the evap. charcoal canister. Other than the mods in my sig I am stock at stock boost. I was just driving past the emission station and I figured I would stop and see if I could run without it being official and then having 30 days to pass or loose my registration. They said just pay and they will test me. Well I am glad I did:

Mine -- MD State limitHC .3564 -- 1.1CO 3.428 -- 20.0NOx .130 -- 2.3CO2 225.39 -- N/A

I just wanted to share my excitement and put some actual emission numbers out there.

WOOHOO

Well that's good news! We've had to start dealing with this emissions crap down here in the Dallas, TX area recently. It's good to know that it can be done.

Yeah, each state's limits are different but I thought some actual numbers of what an sr will do would be good to know to eliminate some rumors.

That's cool because when I get out of the Corps I won't be able to register my car in Ohio any more so I will need to get it emission/inspected in Virginia.

Hope it works!

Well actually the inspection was harder than emissions. I took my car to a place that riped me off on a brake job ( charged me for new rotors + install, found out later I had same rotors). I let them do some of the work on my car to be sure they passed me. They said I needed nre rear brake pads and rotors along with new tie rods. I did the brakes and let them do the tierods. When I got the whole inspection paper at the end they had checked off my AIV, my EGR, and my evap canister; none of which I had. =^)

I have all my emissions equip. in place I will just need to get a new cat and I will be set (hopefully)

Tie rods aren't a hard job two slip nuts on each and you're done. You just need to note the position of the old ones so you can duplicate it on the new TRs (i.e. how many threads between the nuts)

What is emission test? Hence...we don't have one. But congrats.

I would have done them myself but I figured I would throw them some work since they were passing me. What sr do you have? The redtops did not come with an egr valve (I think and no one has proved me wrong or stated otherwise) but according to the s14 factory service manual s14 sr's did.
