So I've decided to pull my sr20det motor from the bottom of the chassis and I was wondering if a wooden pallet would be strong enough to with stand the weight of the motor and the trans on it. And also if it would damage the oil pan in doing so?

Should be strong enough. You could always put some more boards in it to strengthen it. I always grab a large wall tire from a tire shop dumpster and set my engines on them to ensure that the oil pan doesn't get messed up. Just my 2 cents tho.

Yes, a wooden pallet would work, but I ended up using a tire as well.

What size tire would you use?

my sr was shipped on a pallet, but the oil pan was crushed, so just pay attention to how you put it on there, tire size doesnt really matter as long as you dont use a bicycle tire.... just saying lol

I've shipped many motors on a wooden pallet. Have always used a tire though, make sure you strap it well.

my sr was shipped on a pallet too, no damage to the oil pan either. if you can get a tire, use that instead

I usually grab an old truck tire because they have a little bit thicker and larger side wall but a regular all season passenger tire will work
