This is kind of an odd question but I want to throw my car up on wood supports, I saw one other guy that's done it but I couldn't really see how it was built. The car is 100% stripped and I'd like to throw it on some rollers for a little adjust-ability. Anyone have any diagrams or explanations on a how-to

What sort of car is it? Q45's (the G50) weigh about 4,000 lbs. That's pretty heavy and possibly life-threatening if it were to land on you. Personaly, I'd go with metal jack stands or maybe the ramps. What sort of clearance were you looking to get? Would at least 2 wheels be on the ground?

Haha, sorry, stupid of me. No I have a much lighter car, S13, and that's the car I saw on the wooden rack. The reason why I'd rather use the wood is because I can put it on wheels and then the bodyman I've hired can paint the frame much more easily.

The car has no suspension, the bottom end has been taken out. The shocks windows doors fenders, everything.

Oh. Hmm. I'm sure that the wood will be quite sufficient.

I've seen this one. http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PIC....html

The construction of the lift looks quite easy. I guess it'd be best to build the supports, jack the car up, place the supports, then lower the car onto them. During the building of the wooden supports, maybe you can attach some wheels. Maybe the ones with the locks, like you'd find on a computer desk or bed.
