I have an 02 pathfinder with a wood interior (with stupid stock nav) and I hate it. I am prepared to do anything that i can to get rid of it. I went to NYCdashes.com and their reps said that they make a kit for my application, but their will still be wood trim left showing. Does anyone know what it would take to convert from wood to black, would anyone want to trade, and finally would you happen to know what wood trim would be left after a dash kit from NYC dashes? I have seen atleast 1 other member with a kit from them...

There is a website that can "dip" the pieces...but that requires you driving around with out a dash piece for however long it takes to send it there, for them to do whatever they do to it, and for them to send it back. I can't remember the website though so that doesn't help much...but that's all i could think of.

You could easily swap the pieces with one with black... EXCEPT... I'm assuming that the LE you have has all-mode 4wd, right? I don't think a Pathfinder was offered (at least here) with both all mode 4wd and no wood grain (LE only, unless I'm mistaken).

I considered doing this with my QX4 (I later decided I liked the fake wood) -- but then I realized that 96-00 R50s that had the all-mode switch were only QX4s, and thus only wood grain interior.

Cliff notes: having them dipped may be the best route.

Piss on all of that nice lookin sh*t. What you need to do is what I did on my R50; just take the dash off whenever you get a new sticker you like & stick it on there & eventually it will be completely covered. You can even do the trim around the guages. Plus it looks all artsie-fartsie, like a nice collague in your car...

Those lyrics are so far off base (for me anyhow) I don't even know where to begin... but I'll try.

First off, I don't need cutthroat friends, I am that decapitating mad man, wielding not a knife but a biga$$ chainsaw comin straight for ya. I don't want stuff turkey nor the trimmings but instead give me a bleeding rare steak. Next I wouldn't ride with a "K". AKs are for fake-a$$ gangsta's that think a 9mm is something to brag about. If anything is going to be ridin' with me it'll be a lightweight, air-cooled, 200 round drum-fed, gas operated, select-fire, .308 Win cal Armalite AR-10. If I roll I roll deep. Also there is no need for a high speed get away... I'll stand & stare at the police, feds or anyone else who wants static. Lastly, I don't want a quiet engine, I want a 426 Hemi that rattles your house windows when I drive by.

But then again the whole West Coast gangsta "thing" never interested to me. I much preffer the real gangstas: Irish Mafia, Russian Mafia (The Red Mafia) & the biggest gangstas in the world the CIA!

So you are saying that i couldnt swap any of the interior panels with SE ones or that I could swap most but the panel around my drive selector switch wouldnt fit right? I have actually never seen my new car in person as I am still deployed so I really dont know.

And if anyone has a link to any of these places that "dip" let me know.

I just spoke with them and they said they only had flat available and that it wouldnt cover up all the wood trim in mine? BTW, your interior is VERY nice, i hope to make mine very similar once i figure out the best way.

Well actually I just finished up a 15 month tour, and for the most part i made it out allright. I was one of the lucky ones. i am actually in kuwait right now waiting for a plane to take me back to the US... its been a while, a long while This Pathy is my treat to myself for making it out. now, I just have to make my treat even nicer... SANS would grain. And as far as you AR-10 goes... sounds interesting but if you would like I will shell out a list of better options for you that would be much more unique and fun to play with or you could go to Iraq and play with them yourself, but it smells really bad so I wouldnt recommend it. Thanks for the support though, it REALLY is appreciated.

I tried back in 2001 (about 5 or so months before 9/11) but was rejected about 3 weeks before basic training due to a stigmatism in my left eye. The doctor who evaluated me said that the military was not willing to take the chance of me going in then getting full blown glaukoma (spelling?) & then the goverment paying me disability the rest of my life. But my best friend went into the Marines & is on his 5th tour over there (actually 1 tour in Afghanistan, 1 tour in Pakistan & now his 3rd in Irag).

But I'd still love a list of goodies that I'll never be able to get my hands on or will I...

Only if you can find one with all-mode, but I think anything with that had wood grain.

Where'd you deploy to?

Err Nissan sure isnt making my little conversion project easy, that is for sure. I guess that I will have a better understanding of this whole process once I can look at my pathfinder and then compare the interior to other ones. I am pretty much just guessing at this point. Sigh.... I will get it done though even if I have to pull out the whole dash and glass it!

I have been in northern Iraq for the past 15 months, mainly the Mosul area... great place. It takes turns with Bdad for most IED's per capita every month, it just has no press coverage. I hope to be back in the USA in less than 48 hours and i am pretty excited right about now... glad to be coming home to say the least. As far as that list of toys goes, I will post up some of my favorites and some pics of us playing with them over the past year in a seperate thread in the appropriate section once I get to a decent internet connection and have some time. Once again, thanks for all the help with my new Pathfinder and of course the support.
