Hey guys... Does any of the 2nd Gen Qs have the wood inlay on the steering wheel like the new Q or the I35? Like the one pictured.

Thanks!

Terry

Didn't the 2000 ae and 2001? Don't know of any on the board. I prefer uniform steering wheel surfaces myself, and always thought these were a cosmetic melding that reduced functionality.

Might check through the previous posts as someone posted a site that refurbished OEM wheels. Don't know why they couldn't do it like this on a custom basis.

Ill do some digging...thanks! I would think it would hold up better but the wood sure might provide the possibility of a slippery surface with sweaty hands:). The Previous owner of my car owned a drywall repair business and i think with his hands being as rough as they were it just eat the top of the wheel. The wheel looks bad and feels worse:(. So i was thinking an easy upgrade might be a 2k Q wheel if they had the inlay...albeit im sure buying a new airbag wheel anit cheap.

I am curious about the status of the CAI for the FY33? No need to respond if no news.

Ever notice in the FSM in the rear suspension section Nissan shows the RSTB with the notation that is is for RHD cars only? Any idea why it wouldn't fit on a LHD?

Are you talking about the Rear Strut tower bar? If so the Y33 has a stock one in place. At least mine does.

I haven't torn into my wife's trunk to look. I was under the impression there were none on US models. I know all FY33 have rear sway bars.

Verrry interesting.

I'll be looking when I have an opportunity this fall. Any chance it was added by a previous owner? My wife's is a 2000, so maybe Nissan deleted it. It seems Nissan monkeyed with the rear sway bar diameter by reducing it on later models, even the t.

Oh yeah, everyone produced had the front strut bar. I kind of laugh everytime someone says the FY33 are sloppy handlers compared to the G50. While the G50 has the more precise front upper links and geometry that limits camber change better, the FY33 does just fine, thank you. I do think the springs are too soft on both cars, especially the FY33, though.

Hope to do a coil spring specialties upgrade in the future (no drop, thank you, the splash guards scrape now) when I have too much cash.

Yeah it is a luxobox kinda ride...way better than a crownvic or grand marquis...but still kinda squishy. If i could afford the 2800 id go with the Tein setup:). But if i want to get a harsh ride with great handleing I just take out the Sentra:), and it only has 325/200 ERS coilovers in that.

If the 2K ae and 2001 did have a half wood half leather like I think, it will be a yellowish maple that matches only the trim in those cars. Not too attractive, unlike the later maple trim in the F50.
