I love my Q but find the all black dash a bit drab sometimes. I've been wanting to add more wood like the panel around my shifter. I've searched for articles on here or pictures but have not seen anything. Has anyone added wood to their dashes? I have always wondered why the shifter plate is different from the door panel plates? I personally would like to keep the the shifter color but would be interested in what others may have done and where they got their kits from? Any imput would be appreciated. :

So true.. Since I've replaced my dash pieces and reverted back to plain Black, I've become so bored with it. So,.. I'm installing my wood kit from Jason, which I've had now for about 9 months. Great Stuff. A bit expensive, but worth it because it's not fake crap.

I prefer the all black dash, but I guess I'm just cut from a different grain of wood .

I even toyed with swapping my black/black's interior into Da Beast, but the dash removal and having to find new rear deck panel (t v. non-t).

Rear parcel shelf.

The "t" version does not have an opening to mount the "in the car" 3rd brake light.

The non-t has the High Mount Center Brake light.

Make more sense now?

I switched mine to the all black (see my post "Back in Black"), but I got tired of it already. It's just become to plain. Something about the Byrds Eye Maple that has been eating at my brain. I'm putting the woodgrain back in....... I miss it. Rex, I think once you have it for awhile it grows on you!!

Or not. Took my upper half dash out.

Bird's Eye maple (real wood) on 2K ae model and 2001 FYG33 is just too yellow.

I llke the new flat finishes on the rosewood trim in current models.

I would look at Jason's CF or aluminum then. Check out his website. He can email you pictures of most other finishes.

I've always liked wood, in certain cars. Never in the Infiniti though, at least the older ones. I think part of the problem is that the cars came with two, or in some cases 3, different colors in the interior. The wood ads a 3rd (or 4th) different color. Way too much going on. The pictures posted above of the car with the checkerboard floor mats looks horrible to me. It looks like the inside of a clown car. In my opinion, which I admit is often slightly off center, I would love a completely black interior (seats, carpet...everything) with some very nice (and sparce) applications of wood, and just a tiny bit of chrome trim.

Basically, you like BMW interiors. I do too.

You betcha. The only thing I'd change about my car (aside from performance mods) is the 3-tone interior. Yuck. I'd love to have this interior in my car. Found it in a '94 on ebay.

I've always preferred the Q interior with brown or tan. The shape of the surfaces is too earthy and organic for business colors.

BMW's smaller surface areas look great in black, like high-end stereo equipment.
