wont start

i just bought a 1994 infiniti q45 the people lost the keys to the car so they ripped out the ignition and used a butter knife to start the car but now the car won't start ,the theft light flashes when you get in and when you turn the cylinder over to the start position it stops flashing but when you try to crank it it comes on again and you hear the relay click i know i need to get a new colum but does anyone know if i can bypass the the disable mechanism or is that even the problem?

If you are going to keep the car, I would look at getting a new ignition set. If the rest of the car i similarly abused, you will have to be rich to restore it.

If I were you I would run away from that car, How many people use a butter knife to start a $50,00+ car?

Take a minite and think about it, don't buy it beacuse thats the only apparent problem or because it looks nice.
