wont start -not even a sound

hi yo'll i have a 94 j30 and it okbut yesterday i was moving it 200 yard and then when i came back to the car it wont start and there is no noise no nothing, my battery is working great and even with that i try to jump start it.after a while a tow truck arrived and when it lift my car i heard a sound like a loud click and i was able to start the car.now two hours ago it happend again this time in my garage and i didnt call a tow truck. but maybe can you tell me what it can be? is it conect to security or to the transsmition? please i really need help

when you turn the key to acc power do any lights come on in the dash? does the horn blow? sounds like you have a shorting out problem to me. I dont know how hoisting your car would make things work again, unless you have some sort of shorting out going on. Is your battery tight and not moving around? check for loose terminals on the battery. and check the alternatorl. and get a fuse light tester and check appropriate fuses. remember always check fuses visually and with a light tester. Because an unbroken fuse doesnt mean its good. check with a light tester

2nd to gotspeed..... also check to see if your starter is installed properely, it has to bolts connecting it to the bell housing on the passenger side (where the engine meets the transmission), also check the connectors of the starter, there are 2 of them, and there is a nut (12mm i belive) on each of the connectors holding them to the starter.....

ok thank u first of all but the battery is all fine.everything is working in the car even when im try to start italso i have a warning light that "security" when im try to start the carso im thinking its connect to that,but i couldnet find the security stuff in the car(anti theft something..) if anyone know how to over pass the security or even wire start it ill be glad

I would think the horn would be blowing if its the security locking down the ignition.

This is a old thread but queation wasnt answered it seems like. I have a 93 240sx car is doing some thing similar. It makes no noise when i turn the key but the dash light up and every thing and ofcourse it doesnt start.

Its funny because just about 20 mins ago it was fine.

If this was fixed help please.

hate to sound silly, but check the tightness of the battery clamps against the battery posts...and check with voltmeter whether battery is putting out at least 12v when cranking...
