Car: chilling with the homies, working on my cars, and partying

I did a search on this but couldnt find what I was looking for. The other night I was out for a drive in my 93 240 fastback I was going an average of 75mph. Then slowly crept upto 90 mph. as soon as I hit 90 mph my car started shaking violently then it stopped. then later on a few miles down the highway i hit 90 mph again and I lost all acceleration. The check engine light came on and the car would shake if I step on the gas. I pulled over and the car turned off. it wouldnt turn on anymore after that. I let it sit for like a few minutes or then it started but wouldnt idle at all. I had to leave my foot on the gas to keep it on. The engine wouldnt rev over 3000 rpms and it sounded like a messed up rotary engine. I was told it might be the ecu. DO you guys have any idea of what it could be. It has 118,652 miles, its an automatic, 93 240sx. Any help would be greatly appricaited. the problem is gone now. It feels like a new car and no check engine light no more. I dont want to drive it far because i dont want to get stuck out in the middle of no where.

Check for ECU codes and replace whatever sensor that went bad.

I had a problem where my acceleration sucked and the car wouldnt idle. Then I went to hit the brakes and I didn't have any

Friggin vacuum line to the brake booster came off.. that draws some serious vacuum from the engine.. might be somethin to check real quick o_O

Actually I recommend always checking it. I check mine every time the hood is open because it was so damn scary & it was right after I watched the ring

That crazy ***** is out to get me

sounds like a MAF, but check fuel pressure too, can never be too careful

i'd have to third the mafs. Mine went bad but it only revs to 2500. mines a 5sp though, and my old auto went to 3k when the mafs went bad on that one.

Sounds like it went into Safe Mode where you can't go over 3000rpms. We had left my fiance's mother's house and came down the driveway fine, got onto the road and she wouldn't go over 2500rpm. Took it home and figured out it was the MAF. The little pronges that connects it to the censor was corroded a bit. Car was back to its normal self after it was cleaned off.

Check are lines to make sure nothing has come lose.
