Ive done alot of searching on the Z33...and Im curious on if it is worth it to get an 2004 or 2005 autotrans Z? I really love the body style of them. And Im currently deciding if I should put a down payment for one of these? Or just get a 240sx? Right now, Im going to finish up my EMT courses, then go for my Boards. Would it be wish to get one as a first time buyer? (non first time driver)

Z's are definately more fun than 240's.

whats the pros, and cons? if any of you guys can post it up for me. Im still deciding on which to get. I know that if I get a Z from the dealer there will be a warranty, but for the 240. Once I buy it from a private seller. The problem is pretty much all on me. But if I get the 240, I can get suspension, and brakes upgrades eitheronce I buy it, or soon after...

It also depends on how much you want to spend also. The 350z comes with a lot more power stock than the 240 does. plus IMO it handles a lot better because it was designed to. With simple bolt on for the z you make a lot of power. The 240 will take a lot more bolt-ons to make the same amount. The z also has bigger brakes stock which are pretty good for stopping. The z will cost you more to do, but it's definately more worth it. Plus remember there's no replacement for displacement.

Well can I drift in an autotrans z33? Because I know the 04 z33's have an vlsd, and I plan on getting into time attack, and drifting events.

Are you looking at getting a automatic 240 to? Z33's are good for drifting. They also do amazing at time attack. I'm planning on useing my Z for time attack/ auto X. In stock form the Z is already really good for both. Like I previously stated the 240 would take a little more work to get there IMO.

Yeah I know, I would really love one. But Im not soo hot with my foot work for a mantrans. Plus Ive never ever drove one. Only clutched in to start up an vw r32, thats my only experiance. And its going to be my daily driver for a bit, and commuting around southern california is a task, and very annoying. Especially if its going to be in a manual.

Also Im going in as a first time buyer with roughly $10k as a down payment. Do you think the dealer would turn me down?

In traffic, manual is not your best friends especially in LA, I've done it. 1st and 2nd lol for like 45min sometimes. I'd say just look around for parts and see if you really can spend the money for the z parts. If you can I'd so go with the Z, and just save up I guess for an S13, or S14 manual and practice on than make it a project car. Just look at your other options before making the comitment of a Z

I really want a Z, and I was thinking the same thing. About buying the Z then saving up money in my bank account for a S13 project car. But with the Z I also want to drift it, and use it for time attack. But for my commuter for a little bit can be manual, but its up be annoying to use. Since I use the freeway to work and school, plus the drivers in the San Fernando Valley arent very good ones.

Drifting is going to throw alot of abuse on your car and car parts so be prepared for that. And incidents also do happen when you go drifting so just think ahead before you buy it.

Very true. Maybe Ill just go for the Z as my car for now. And still save up for the S13. Because I always want a Z33, and I also really want an S13. Ill just use the Z as a DD, and just add basic bolt ons to it. Then when I have the money for an S13...Ill pick one up, and then use that as a project.

Sounds like a really good plan.
