Could be a lot of things without more info. What does it do while running if you disconnect the battery? When did it start? Manual or automatic?

Some possibilities without knowing more are that its an electrical problem, a vaccum leak, or both.

by just installed I'm going to assume it hasn't run right since it was installed, or pretty close to that. Its most likely some kind of airflow issue, a vaccume leak or something else. When it chokes and stalls is that only in idle? Like if you rev it up a little does it start to run smoothly? If thats the case it could be a blowoff valve problem.

would that cause the ignition not going off also, when turning the key to the off postion?

Not really, thats why its probably more than one problem, one being caused by the other. I had a vaccum leak in my KA that made the engine choke, and it shook the belt loose. Simmilar stuff can happen with any engine. But the not turning off thing is some sort of problem with the electrical system no doubt. It is somewhat important how it does actually turn off. Try disconnecting the battery while its running if you can and see if it turns off after a few.

Forgot about that one, that would really be "interesting" if that were the case.

I cant tell if you've actually paid attention to anything I've said though so I'll reiterate some of it. Check the whole dealie for possible vac leaks(loose, broken or cracked hoses; a bad intake seal, a bad blowoff). To test for the blowoff rev it a little immediately after starting it. If it doesn't choke when you step on the gass a little then your problem is probably the blowoff. Even if thats not the turning off problem, still check it, because it would be a seperate issue. As for turning it to off, can you fully remove the key? and does it make any sounds if you do so. Also, try letting it sit in accessory for a min before turning it to off and see what happens. All this stuff can help diagnose the problem so it is worth trying.
