Hey folks can anyone help me, I am along time lover of the 720 pickup. This is my second one, I usually keep them for a long time. I have had this one 15 years plus but have never had this problem before. A few days ago the truck stopped at home and now it wont start. No indication of power from the ignition to the starter. The starter is new (I double checked it yesterday), a few months old. The battery is new a few months old (the last one was 13 years old). I changed the coil today because I had never changed it. The ignition switch is good it clicks but wont engage the starter.

Thanks

Chief.

No it wont even start in neutral. I wish it would. This baffels me. I have never had this problem before. It's a 1980 720, extra cab. Stock engine. AT, nothing unusual about the engine. The transmission neutral safety switch has been broken for years and it ran fine. Any info will be greatly appreciated and helpful.

Thanks

Chief.

Ah, the rest of the story. Love it.
Maybe the Neutral switch has failed further.
You just have to get a wiring diagram and see what is working and what is not.
Diagnosing things like this online is a crap shoot, if that

Thanks, I found my manual with the wiring diagram last night and was reviewing it. I intend to start tracing and reviewing this morning.

Thanks again and all the best.
