I got my sr all wired up and hooked up. 92 engine in a 92 chassis. the only thing is is it won't start. The start won't click over, the relay clicks but no starter go. But my question is, is there are 2 wires off the lower harness (KA) where its a 8 pin plug but only 4 are used, looks likes this:XOXOXOXOX=wire O=emptyand one other standard 2 wire plug and I can't figure out where they go. I can't find a lower harness wiring diagram on the internets anywhere.Any help is appreciated, this is all that's keepin me from startin this thing.

it sounds like it could be a bad starter, but it could be grounds as well. I would start by checking the grounds to EVERYTHING because that will need to be done anyway. Then I would go trouble shoot my starter. The KA lower harness should bolt up to the alternator, starter, oil pressure sensor, battery and grounds with no modification.

Test the current on the starter with the ignition switch on and make sure you are getting current there. Then make sure that the ground is tight on the starter.

Maybe a little detail about what the car does. Do the lights come on and flash right off? Does it make a continuous ticking sound but doesn't turn over? Use a little more detail if you want to get a good response.

Lights turn on fine, fuel pump primes right up. It's a stock sr except I have a FMIC and a greddy spec b 2 boost controller. All accessory electrical works perfect. I am gonna pull off the starter and take it to work and test it. I hope it is bad and at the same time I don't... But anyone anything about those 2 plugs? Or should they just remain unplugged cause they don't matter? And the alternator and all that jazz fits perfectly with the harness, it's just my starter that I am going to kill.

you should post a pic of the connector or give us wiring colors...

but if you have plugged up your starter to a power source and grounded it properly then it should at least turn over regardless of the other plug. Starters run off of the 12+v ignition switch.

Also, be sure to inspect your starter button on the back of your clutch...Did you do a 5 speed conversion?

It came already swapped when it had the KA in it. And unfortunately no camera to take pictures. I will find out if the starter is bad soon though... hopefully if I can get it unbolted from the car!!! Damn bolts...

[] <- lock tab thingX(yellow)OX(red)OXOXO^both X's are white w/ a red stripe

Both plugs come off the harness near the alt. where it looks like they would plug into the fuse box but no fuse box connector is right.

Did this car run with the KA 5 speed swap?

From the sounds of it, someone put the 5 speed lower harness in it, which is incompatible with the chassis harness of an auto car.

You can use the wiring diagrams for the KA lower harness as they're identical to the SR's, btw.

As for your mystery plugs, I have no clue what they could be without actually seeing them. I can't find or think of any plugs that utilize the colors in the layout you're saying they're in.

There is a 2 pin connector that has a Black/Yellow (start signal) and a White (alternator) going through it.

The speed sensor uses a Yellow/Blue and a Yellow/black, but on the auto harnesses, they go through a 4 pin plug, and the manual has it going through an 8 pin plug

Since this is an auto swap, and you're having starting issues, make sure that the park/neutral switch plug was jumped properly. It's located at the bottom of the fuse box. Sometimes, it can slide under the fuse box. It'll be two very thick wires (Black/Yellow and Black/White), and they need to be jumpered to make a swapped car start.
