won't rev up over 5000rpm.please help

what would cause my car not to rev up over 5000 rpm?all we did was install a new transmission in it b/c the old got broken.

Your 5th gear sensor could have failed, making your car thinking it's always in 5th gear... this is a manual correct?

Have you tried searching for "5000 rpm" on the search page w/ Archived content? I just did that and there's a host of things to look @...

I had an issue where my 240 wasn't grounded correctly and caused it to have rev issues like that.

yes it is a manual. i just checked a bunch of stuff that i found in the archived content but so far none of them has been usefull yet.

where do i find the 5th gear sensor? i though there was no such as thing as a gear sensor or gear position sensor?
