won't rev over 5,000RPM

so i was driving earlyer in my first gen altima and i was in first gear kinda on it i hit about 5500 rpm and it felt like i hit the rev limiter it stalled out and wouldnt rev past 5500 its all stock and i have know idea any ideas????

Mmm perhaps ignition timing. What other things are you getting? Backfiring missfiring maybe?

no it was the cat i have 2 bad injectors and it caused the front catalist to break apart so i got a new on put on it and destroyed that in 6 days lol
