OK,,,,here we go. Had plans to check out some new mountain bikes since i got back into riding, so went out to do my usual 10-15 minute warm-up on the Q. as i approach my Q i notice a lump on the hood of the car. as i get closer i see that the lump is actually a bird. now i'm no idiot, and realize that small birds can be man-killers, so i cautiously approach and make motions like i might attack to scare it away, while ducking so it doesn't take flight to peck my eyes out. as it tries to fly away i realize that it's little leg is stuck between the quarter panel and the hood's opening!!!!!!!! i also see that's there's a huge mess of bird sh*t, feathers, and birdy blood all around it,,,,obviously has been there a while. so at this point i'm going back and forth in my head between compassion for one of God's little creatures, and my paint which i have slaved over for the past year and a half!!!! so i get in the Q and start it up,,,,,,,,all this does is start blowing more feathers so i pop the hood from inside. this helps a little but he's still struggling. now i'm really in a bind!!! if i go out and open the hood, the little guy might hold me responsible for his dilema and peck me to death!!!!! so,,,,i do what any reasonable person would do,,,,,,,,,rev the engine and he does manage to get himself free,,,but falls with a thump. he's obviously broken his little leg! i did get out to see how he was doing, but he slinked into the bushes. unfortunatly, i fear the worst for the little guy,,,,,wish i could do more! well, like all of us, i instantly drove to the self-serve car wash to get rid of all the evidence. thank you 5 star shine, cause all the bird crap, feathers, blood, tears, etc...........washed away!!!!! so what started out bad, has a happy ending!!!!!;)

NuQ, you ride?! I used to be hardcore back in the day. 6 days a week, 6-8hrs a day for 4 years... no weight training during that time and I still have the calves to show for it, 3 years later! Do you ride XC, DH, or FR? Give me your bike (or bike to be's) specs! I'm just starting to get back into it now. It was the time of my life.

yeah, i'm getting back into riding,,,,love it! i currently ride a cannondale m500,,,,,good frame but no suspension. it needs a tune up bad and just stopped in the shop tonight to check into it. feel in love with the cannondale f600 and the trek 6700. dilema,,,,,dump a grand into a new bike or put the $$$$ into the Q!!! decisions, decisions. thinking about a deposit on the bike and the repairs now on the Q. smart,,,,right?!! LOLjeff
