I repaired a broken cold pipe (which even broken it started fine. it just idled like crap). I also decided to replace the plugs. I pulled the coilpacks and installed spark plugs which were exactly identical to the ones currently in the engine. I put everything back together, and the car wouldn't even crank.

I then decided to pop the clutch, and we got it running, but it was so bad I shut it down immediately. It was like it was misfiring or something, and it was shaking terribly. I tore it apart again, and I believe one of the coilpacks wasn't making contact with the plug, so I had someone push down on all the coilpacks to make sure there was contact, but it still wouldn't crank.

Someone said they heard a "click" coming from a fusebox in the engine bay. The box with that M&P/Clutch fuse or whatever it is on the drivers side. I don't know how that could have burned a fuse though. The car was sitting on jackstands while the I/C was repaired and new plugs were put on.

I'm getting heated about this, and anyones input is definitely welcome.

I'm gonna try a couple things with the starter later today. I can't imagine how it started so flawless, and now won't start at all after some minor work. I can't imagine it being anything else.

when you say you decided to pop the clutch, do you mean push the clutch in? Cause you should have to do that normally.

If it started when you did that but ran weakly, it could be a number of things, weak alt/battery, bad connections anywhere between those and the ignition system, the coilpacks could be fried, etc.

Download the CA18DET FSM, there's procedures for testing all kinds of things. It even tells you how to check the coilpacks if they're good or not...

By pop the clutch, I mean having someone push the car from behind while I had the car in-gear and let the clutch engage + disengage. I do have a FSM, but I couldn't find a troubleshooting section of anykind.

I did notice a ground on the metal coilpack plate that appeared to be broken off, but I couldn't find a matching wire on the harness anywhere, so I figured that probably doesn't need to be there, anyway.

you gotta make sure all the grounds that go to the metal bracket that the coilpacks bolt up to are grounded out.....ive left them off before and i heard all kinds of crazy clicking noises and had my stereo stop working, and the engine ran horribly....try grounding that wire out and seeing what happens

There is only one ground that I am aware of. It goes directly to the valve cover. I did, however, find a broken wire on the metal bracket that was once a ground.

I didn't find anywhere that ground could have attached to. I looked and looked and looked, so I figure it was just left out long ago. Is there actually 2 grounds for the coilpacks?

The coilpacks have their own little sub harness. You've got 4 plugs that plug into each coilpack. Their is one ground wire that is in their for the packs. All four grounds for the coilpacks combine into one ground wire that has to be grounded. That wire gets grounded to the metal bracket that the coilpacks screw onto. hope this helps.
