Back in the day when I was still working out and had no kids, marathon sex it was, and ice down the junk later to reduce swelling. Now that there's kids involved its, "oh our son's outside playing and you're doing dishes, let me help you with those *zip*"

That's because you're working the same muscles constantly; abs, glutes, hip flexors, etc. Do pushups for 2 min and see how much more sore you get.
