Wohoo !! Bought my vert Monday 3-24-08 !!!

Found a red '92 vert on Atlanta Craigslist w/117k miles (I am in Auburn Alabama, about 110 miles from Atlanta) and I was third in line to look at it. The guy was asking $3000 for it. It turned out the first two were tire kickers. The car has the original top (lost a little stitching and a one inch tear in the back "plastic" but still in great shape for it's age. The body has one small dent behind the passenger side wheel and a few small scratches, but it still shines. It has leather seats and door panels, no cracks in the dash. Aftermarket stereo and new speakers (though only fair sounding.) There is a small issue with the driver side quarter window staying in track, but everything else works great. I was able to talk him down only $150, but hey that is $150....... Now I am the owner of a 240SX vert with leather for $2850..... not bargain basement, but a good deal.

It's a running inside joke here on the vert forum. Not only here, but pretty much anywhere you go on the internet where people like to see pictures of anything. It's not a real rule - just something we have fun with. Nothing to take offense to. We don't actually respect a reply like that, so you don't have anything to be afraid of.

We're all really laid back here, very supportive of the vert community, and like to have a good time. You'll catch on if you'll stick around.

The vert forum here is an invaluable asset to your ownership of the car. You will not find a better source for help and information anywhere else on the planet. We are good people.

Congrats on the new 'vert! Sounds to me like you got a really nice deal. Anytime you can get solid 'vert with a great powertrain for under $3k, you've done well. Add on the leather interior and you've gotten a very good deal! Congrats!!!

Just understand that no offense was intended when we make the joke about pictures or ban.. We would never ban someone over that. It's just a common running joke on this forum.

Welcome Bryant,First off.... We are VVVEEERRRYYY laid back here. Don't take offense to anything that anyone here says... it's never intended that way.. With that said, You'll find that this is one of the most helpful forums around. Most of us have been on here for a long time. We all try to help each other. Now, just so you know Dexter is the official Pic Police... I think it's been an ongoing joke for about a year and a half now... We are however a simple bunch that like to look at pictures... so post some when you can.. It's a put a SN to a car thing for me, plus I like to see what everyone else is working on... Most of the stickies are your most help with issues concerning the Verts. We are a family here (somewhat disfunctional but...) and for the most part very easy going... So welcome again..... and post some pics when you can (sorry had to put it in).

Haha, sorry for giving you the wrong impression. Trust me, you have to go a long way to even get legitimate flak on this forum, let alone get banned. I think that's the first time I've been called a troll on a forum :O

Also, if you do attempt to fix (and most likely replace) that wonky 1/4 window I advise you to be VERY careful with it. When I was salvaging parts off my junker vert I got a little too rough with one side and snapped all three of the plastic guides off. And if you need any help with that I, and several others, have some pretty good experience taking them out.

I do plan to do some mods, but mostly to start with, I will just get everything right. The minor stuff like trunk lid struts, carpet, quarter window guide (it runs out of track) and a top boot will come first. The car has good tread left on Toyo tires, so I will probably wait until I get some life out of them while I decide what wheels and tires to go with. I like the pop-up headlights, so a Silvia front-end is not for me. I may try a sleepy-eye mod very soon. I would like some red flame gauge faces as well. Haven't found those on the net yet, but I have seen them before.

Yep, I was hammering the SNPA like it was Coors Light or something. That pretty much made me an instant idiot. Had I stayed up much longer, I might have had to close one eye not to see two monitors.

Hmmm..... just for that I will post one small pix of my 240 and ten pix of my wife's mini-van. Ha ha ha

Come to think of it, I do have an '04 Quest SE with the Rogue interior. I picked the van out myself knowing I have to drive it from time to time (went all the way to Tennessee to buy it.) The interior is pretty sweet for a van. I would swap the front seats with my 240. but my head and shoulders would strick out over the top of the windshield and I wouldn't be able to see over the steering wheel of the Quest.
