aight, when i got to school today, i parked as usual, and i was like wierd, idle is bouncing up and down between like 500 and 1000, start it up in the afternoon, and same thing, its running rich too, when its cold

pulled up to friends house, and it dies

going to check for codes in a minute, the cts resistance (hot) is 291 ohms, im gona check again when cold

any ideas?

hey i had that same problem... start up the car and idle would bounce approximatley 3-4 times... altho i never found a solution, it only happens every now and then when it feels like it... i thought it may have been the tps, but that checked out fine. my problem started happening when i removed the butterflies to the swirl controll.

i read somewhere on the boards that ground wire resistance can mess up the idle

i love regurgitating tech stuff i dont quite understand

yeah, that ground wire is to the maf, if the ground to the maf is more then .02v, then you have to run another one, but my ground is .00, so im good

i think im just gona order that sensor, it did have some corrosion about a month ago

unplug tps and see if anything changes. when you floor it, does it go anywhere or just fall flat after 1500 rpm? the swirl control valve(butterflies) will do that. seen some intake gaskets blow out.

no, if i floor it, it goes

if i turn with the clutch in, it will die, my guess is that the ps pump is saping the power from the engine, i will do the tps thing, it almost seems if it is misfiring when it is at higher (3-4k)rpm

hmmm, that kinda sounds like rich running under load. i would have a looksy at the spark plugs and the coolant temp sensor.

LOL, i was checking different things while the engine was running, and i accidentaly bumped the MAF connector, and it instantly started running strong, rock solid idle, and no insanely rich or misfires anymore, must have just been a little loose, thanks for all the help guys
