wMy car bogs

I own a 1990 240, and when i floor it, it bogs a lil bit. And on the freeway it bogs a lot. Someone once told me it was a sensor problem and another told me its a mechanical problem.

And another thing. my check engine light is on because of the EGR valve. What is that and will that affect my cars performance?

hmmm, if you could possibly explain the bogging in more detail that would help. what noise it makes, how long it lasts, etc.

egr=exhaust gas recirculation

it could affect your performance and/or your emissions. it depends. common cause would be the little hose from bpt to egr valve. also have seen a few bad solenoids.

Its just like, i cant press the pedal past half way. If i do the car like, bogs a lil bit, goes to normal, bogs normal. back and forth till i reech my redline which is at 5000RPMS. And thats another problem lol

ok, the 5000rpm redline is likely a prob with your 5th gear sensor circuit. if ecm thinks you are in 5th you will have early redline. try the wiggle test on your engine harness to see if its a wiring problem. that kind of sounds like wiring especially around maf.
