I have a wmv file I need to capture a frame from and convert to a jpeg. Anybody know how to do this?

Also, I'd like to have this wmv file (very short) hosted so I can link it for y'all to check out...

pause the video on the frame you want, then press the PrintScrn key on your keyboard

start your favorite image editing program (Photoshop, Paint, etc.) and paste the captured screen into a new file (Ctrl-V)

crop and save as jpeg

There's some software you can try out from cnet:

They are fairly untested and come with some level of risk. They could be viruses for all you know. Kinda like bidding on ebay I guess. I have a software called Studio that's pretty good, but there aren't any trial versions that I know of.

You could also open it in windows movie maker (if you have it). I think it'll let you copy individual frames like that.

Hmmmm. I don't have MovieMaker and I'm gonna pass on the "new software" option....

I'll try the "pause and print" thing...

Any other ideas?

Greg,

Yeah I can probably take care of it. Just e-mail it to me if it's not too big.

THanks,

Nick

DOH!

It's an .avi file.

I just realized that - Does that make any diff?

Also, I'm having a b**** of a time posting a photo that's already hosted on the site - It's showing up as a link. :(
