wish i had a sticky to go to for the most concise, and reliable info on purchasing and rebuilding a CA18DET engine. my recent purchase of a 67 Datsun 1600 roadster with CA18 engine has me wishing for turbo power. the car is set up with a Mazda LSD 4.11 gears, disc brakes, and coil overs front and back.

and the second pic is my 69 2000 roadster so it won't be jealous of the 67

I pretty much built my whole CA from their site. I think I might have gotten a few odds and ends from Enjuku

Well unfortunately i dont know of a safe place to buy a motorset from since my motor was in the car when i bought it. But there is a link in these forums somewhere i think its there forum sponsors. And im positve they would only put reputable places in that list. So thats where i would start. Also check the review forum for info on some places. Idk where you are located but i have heard about jdm of miami a few times.

When you do your swap, get a harness from wiring specialties. They come wired for an s13 and even though thats not your application the factory one are usually pretty rough from age and having a new OE harness will make your life much simpler. FRSport will be a good place to get parts from. For rebuild Id get an OE gasket set and bearings/rings from then for a start. If youre looking for fun power Id consider a set of 550's, an S15 28 turbo with a z32 maf and nistune. you can also get your harness pre-wired for that maf if youd like, save you a little wiring under the hood later on. That combo should net you near or at 300hp which in that little car would be awesome and all pretty cheap to do as well
