If you're going to do pistons just get rods as well. Trust me on this.
It isn't going to be just $150 anyways. New pistons require that the cyls be bored and honed, the bearings clearanced, the rings fitted, new headgasket at a minimum, assembly, etc etc etc. You can probably do some of it on your own, but definitely not all. ...So you're talking machine shop labor + + + + +
Once you start replacing lower end parts you're in a whole new ballgame, and my experience has been if you're going to do it- do it right or dont do it at all.
