Yeah, but mine's throwing the knock sensor code. And the symptoms of knock sensor are running rich as hell (check), pulling timing (check) and problems go away above 3500 rpm (check). So I'm pretty sure thats what it is, but they are too expensive new....

The wire that runs from your knock sensor to the ecu must be shielded and ONE end of the shield has to be grounded. Otherwise there will be interference as it runs next to a few wires (injectors) that have changing currents.

It seems strange that the resistor trick does not work. I have done it before on a fwd and it worked. I will look into it this week

edit, just talked to my mate that has done it, Its a 1M ohm resistor that you need to bypass the knock sensor on the ca18det and vg30dettSorry to all the guys that fitted a 10k ohm resistor and have had problems

Holy thread revive.

Use the CA18DE Pulsar one. It works. The KA one is a two wire I believe. The VG30DETT one is the same too I think, but you can still get the CA18DE so just buy the CA18DE one from the dealer or the autoparts store.

Yea for searching for your answers! Keep up the good work!

As modmaster said, you can get a knock sensor from the parts store (if yours is bad). What everyone is talking about is the fact that when you do the swap, you have to run a wire straight from the sensor to the ECU.

Holy thread revive Batman! After I was searching for the correct part for the Knock sensor I stumbled on this and I figured as a temp fix until I can get the new knock sensor I wanted to try this out. Anyone confirm it Actually works???? I went out and got my 1M resistors lol! Ready to hook it up to pin 23 and ground out the other side and see what happens I guess :ohno:
