Hi All,
I've got a 1993 240sx Fastback SE (converted Sileighty style), and have been enjoying my S14 SR20DET for over a year now. Everything engine wise, works like a champ. The A/C does work, but not as it should. I'm using a manual switch hooked to the A/C Relay to engage the SR compressor.
I would like to get this sucker wired up properly so that the A/C works as it should. (I'm getting tired of stalling during city driving!) I've been searching online (Nico and abroad) extensively and haven't found anything concise that explains how it should hook up nor any posts that confirms that the two systems are compatible.
I have the FSM for a 1991 S13 chassis, and have been comparing schematics between the S13 the S14 SR. For the most part it LOOKs compatible. However, the biggest difference I see are that the S13 has a double switch on the receiver drier versus a triple switch on the S14. Also, the location of the switch is in a different part of the circuitry in the S14 than the S13.
Looking at the two, I've narrowed it down to two wires for hook up. The signal from the Thermo Control Amp, and the ground side for the A/C Relay.
I'm guessing that I could wire up the S13 wire from the Thermo Control Amp that would normally go to pin 44 on the S13 USDM chassis to the S14 SR ECU pin 46. And lastly, the S13 A/C Relay wire (green/yellow) from the engine bay to the S14 SR ECU pin 9.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm so tempted to try it out, but don't want to fry anything on the ECU or otherwise.
Sorry for the lengthy details, thanks in advance!
