Wiring through the center console - quick ? for those who stripped interior b4

My power mirrors, and cig lighter never did work since I bought the car the summer. So I was reaching down through the ashtray opening tracing wires to see if anything was let go and I noticed the handbrake light blinking as I fiddled around. (car was running and I had the park brake on)

Do the wiring for the rear hatch items run through the center console? (defrost, wiper, brake light)

Because maybe I got some shiat loose in there?

I believe they do, there's a fairly large harness that runs through there.

Can't be that hard to pop that center console out - hopefully will have a look this week. (its really cold out now, so the car will be running when I do it)

Pretty eacy... 2 screws on the sides (near front) and 2 screws in the rear sides (you'll have to move the seats up)... Remove shifter trim and there's 4 screws under there and I thnik that's it.

Perfect, going to check that out tonight. Grab a light tester and screwdriver and start hauling it apart.

Nope not even close. the harness goes to the ashtray light, cig lighter, power mirror controls and park brake signal.

The only thing getting power is the ashtray light, and the handbrake signal. The rest dead. Wonder if theres something under the dash that everything on the hatch and these items connect to that causing the problem.

I hate tracing electrical shiat.

Check the fuses...if you have not already. You may need to go to a local salvage yard and pull cigarette lighter off of a 240sx...if the fuse is still good.

I find it odd that both the mirror controls and the cig lighter don't work. I thin k I checked the fuses before - getting cold out there now, hopefully I can have another look tonight.
