Whats the compression ratio with the wiseco piston? Are they just rb30e piston or are they made to work with the rb25/26 head?

Custom pistons with 8.6 compression on a RB25 head. Lots of calculations went into figuring out the volumes.
RB30E rods and pistons will not work with this setup.

Why dont the rb30e rods work with your setup?

They just don't. Piston position becomes an issue with the RB25 head.

Very nice! I have been debating between the rb30 and rb26 for a while now. Just trying to colect as much information as I can. The only thing that wories me is the rb30 and swaping the head. I want to go with a rb26 head and there just seems to be so much fabrication. Tapping of the new head bolts, fabricating new spots for the belts. Im still doing reaserch and that is all I can do. What all did you have to do as far as the head studs and belts go.

if you're worried about modding a block then perhaps an rb30 hybrid isnt for you...cutting, drilling, tapping, and grinding gaurenteed!

There is a bit of work envilving getting the head installed on the RB30 block. With additional oil drains, VTC feed, additional timing belt pulley and many little misc machining need - it is a bit of a stretch for a plug and play install.
The water pump needs to be properly seated and you have to weld on a bit of material to raise the block...

If you need a list of changes, i would suggest an Aussie site as it is a bit lengthy. I will confuse you more than help.

Turbo setup is also a bit of a tough choice. Clearly, if you are thinking of investing (or donating) into an RB30, you wanna make power. With an GT40R or 42R, there are clearance issues with the hood.

If you ask me, go with the RB26 and just throw a couple of turbos on the thing.

If not, i can sell you my engine :).

Lol ya I am still looking and I am not wanting to buy my engine yet. What do you think about putting a rb26 head on a rb30 block? Do you believe the differences are not worth the money? And I would be going single most likely. I am also worried about if you are wanting those numbers how your transmision will hadle it. Ill be running a rb25, which I have already purchased lol, and I am not sure what type of numbers those hold. I have heard low and high. What is your opinion on that as well?

Time for a small but exciting update.

In late 2010 the motor was pulled and sent to a shop in Chicago where it is going to be rebuilt.
It should be back soon and is now stroked even further to 3.2L!!!

This may be the only 3.2L RB on this side of the Pacific Rim.

Here are a few pics of the car when the motor was out. Temp Tein suspensions was in until new coils arrived.

Both are a great setup for sure. The 30 delivers more smooth and linear power for obvious reasons. The 26 is still very fun though in an S-Chassis, even in stock trim. With a few bolt on upgrades, reaching to 400hp mark is very doable.

We can wire up both rb26 and rb30 setups for S13's and S14's. We have already done a few custom setups now.
