I have a 2004 G35 Coupe that came with the standard rear view mirror. So I bought a powered mirror off eBay. I mounted the mirror without any difficulties but I have no idea how to wire the mirror into the electrical system. The mirror comes with a dongle with three loose wires connected to it. I know that it is supposed to mount just above the mirror , near the housing for the overhead lights. I pulled out the overhead light assembly but there is no connection for the mirror. I was told this might be the case when I bought the mirror. So now I have to wire the dongle into the electrical system somehow.
Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to do this myself.
The mirror comes with a dongle that has three wires coming out of it. Pin 10 is Yellow, Pin 8 is Black and Pin 6 is Orange. I had thought I might be able to splice it into the wiring for the vanity mirrors or the sun roof. Is this a bad idea? I want to install this thing myself and save the 100$ or so bucks the dealership would charge me, but I’m not an electrician. And while I’m not afraid to work on the car, I’m not an electrician and I don’t want to blow out the electrical system doing it.
So if anyone that has had some experience with this install or understands the electrical system could give me a point in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all,
