wiring question

i was doing my radio i got it all working the one the that i have notice was that there was to orange wires by themself with a back connector does anyone know what that would go to? and one more thing why would someone tape the o/d buttom down? and would it effect it at all ?could the orange wire have anything to do wiht it ?

if it is part of the harness to wire up the radio then; its for illumination err something like that.
