So I started the wiring yesterday. And I have a question on a couple wires that are on the CA JDM harness. They go up to the connectors by the battery. I believe it is F10 on the diagram. One wire is blue with a whit stripe and the other is gray. Neither of these wires is called out on the CA wiring diagram so I am not sure what to do with them. Also there is a purple wire that the diagram shows going to a pressure solenoid valve, but that connector has a brown and a white wire, both of which are accounted for elsewhere. And that purple wire goes to the ECU directly from this connector. But like I said, the diagram shows it going to the ECU and to the pressure solenoid valve. Where do I connect it on the plug by the battery?

http://www.srswap.com Click hereclick SR install faq on the leftclick wiring informationread whats in front of you. if it's not talked about, you don't need it.

That is what I did and mines fine. The only thing I did was that on my SOHC 90, the brown wire on the KA chassis harness was a 12V switched source, so I just hooked the wire up there instead of running something separate.

I know that. I just don't believe in being half-assed. No sense not connecting a wire without proof I don't need it. Not saying I do need them, I just want to see them on the wiring diagram so I KNOW I don't need them.

im thinking i did something with them when i wired up my car, i used almost all of them, so there is hope for you yet. course my car devours gas and does funny things, but it does run. ill have a look and see if i can see what they went to in the morning if it stops raining like hell here.

well I didn't have many left over either, and the only problem I have with mine is that it's a ***** to start when it's cold.

Well, since they are not called out on the CA wiring diagram I have I am just going to hope I don't need them, wish I could know... Hopefully it is just A/C or ABS crap.

You'll be fine, I promise. Follow the SR wiring diagram and you'll be running like a champ!

I agree with float. I followed the srswap wiring diagram exactly, except I just connected the brown wire on the CA harness to the brown wire on the car harness, instead of the "12v switched power supply" srswap specifies. The car runs great, and starts well, even in the cold.

So the SR and the CA wiring is that close?

so are you guys using a combination of the KA and CA harnesses? or just the CA harness? i'm going to be doing this swap shortly and i'd like to use only the CA harness if possible.

I am using the CA engine harness and Engine harness #2. But no way would I attempt changing the harness under the dash. That thing is insane. And I am using the KA harness that goes around the chassis and into fuse boxes and such.

Combination.

You use 95% of the CA engine harness. You will need the dash plug and about 6" of wire starting at the plug from the KA harness. You need the 2 plugs by the battery and wiper fluid resevoir (brown and grey plugs) and abou 3" of wire starting at the plug from the KA harness.

Then you can either use the KA lower harness (transmission plugs, alternator plugs, starter plugs) And switch out or splice the reverse and neutral switches on transmission. Or use the CA one which mine was cut so I couldnt use it.
