I own a '97 240 with an S13 sr20. The swap was done by a friend of mine and his friend, who is a professional mechanic. The car ran fine for a long time but the battery started dying intermittenly after awhile. Soon, I'd have to unplug the battery everytime I turned the car off because if I didn't, the car would be dead when I came back to it. After I talked to my friend, he said they had some trouble with the wiring harness (done by XAT Racing) and that for some reason they had to eliminate the relay the turns the ECU on when the car is turned on. So, in effect, the ecu is drawing power from the battery at all times. Now I don't know very much about wiring, but I'd like to hear your all's opinions if this would be the cause of the battery dying, and really, how difficult it will be to fix. I'm somewhat mechanically competent, but know very little about electronics.
BTW, the cigarette lighter outlet also stopped working around the same time the battery started dying. I tried replacing fuses but they just blow as soon as the car is turned on.
Thanks for the help
