my car only starts every time when i use a jumper wire from the battery directly to the starter. it will start first thing in the morning through the ignition. when i t does start the temp gauge wont work and the speedomoter will work for like 10 minutes than just die all of a sudden. the battery dies if i dont run it up every day. its not the alternator. another strange thing is that with the key out of the ignition there is power to the ac/heat cd deck lights pretty much everything. i just had my head pulled for a bent valve this all happened after that. any ideas on where to start i do have a car alarm also i think that could have something to do with it. thanks.

Find out what is powering ac/heat etc when key out of ignition. Pull the ignition switch green fuse link. That is probably the source of the power.Have a look at your alarm wiring keeping an eye open for loose connections , signs of heat, etc. Jiggle the wire to see if symptoms change. Jiggle ignition wires and switch .
