So i bought an ecu and wiring harness from Dee. As i was installing it today, i had most of the plugs done and i noticed the there was no plug right for the maf for the orginal ka24e maf. Is there a different maf needed or what are my options for making this work? without buying a new harness...

Get a CA maf or an SAFC to make the SOHC maf work.

Why would you use the KA-E MAFS? It probably has a plug for the CA MAFS. As was stated, either get a CA MAFS (the best thing to do), or you can get a plug for the KA-E MAFS and cut and splice it in, but you'll need a SAFC, or a new chip installed for it to work properly.

You need to tear apart your KA harness and scavenge a bunch of shielded wire and lengthen the MAF wire. Make sure you solder and heat shrink each connection. Don't forget to solder the shielding layer to each other either.

The harness I sold you is wired so that you won't don't have the issues like most on this forum have with wiring their stock harnesses. As for the AFM plug, I usually leave that up to the individual to extend however they want because what I like to do maybe something you don't like. So as stated by the guys before me, just extend the wires the route you want to see it extended and where you will have your AFM.

As for using the KA-e AFM, you can. What you guys don't know is that he is not using a CA18DET, but actually the CA18DE. His car is not turbocharged; it is naturally aspirated and uses a CA18DE ecu that I provided as well. So I'm pretty sure you can use the KA AFM, but I would prefer you use the CA18DE's for originality and less possible complications as well.

I thought the DE and DET MAFS were the same? I could be wrong. I probably am. I'm having a day like that today.
