WIRING ISSUE 97 s14

I have a problem with a rapid battery discharge and am in the process of checking the wiring and need to know if anyone else has their wiring like mine is. The battery is wired directly to the fuse box under the hood and there are no fuses in between the alternator and starter. The full service manual wiring diagram shows it differently. This diagram shows how my wiring is hooked up. My question is if anyone else has the same as mine or if it is wired incorrectly.
