Several posts discuss how to wire a Gentex rear view mirror with Homelink in a Rogue with a sunroof. I don't have a sunroof and was wondering if I could tap the wires powering the map or dome lights. I think both of these lights are powered down if left on by the Interior Room Lamp Control System. I can remove the map lamp assembly and the dome light assembly for access. The map and dome light wires are very thin, but the mirror probably doesn't use much power.

Another option would be to run the wires under the edge of the headliner and down a pillar, then under the dash and connect somewhere there.

Any ideas?
