Wiring help needed.

I want to add a LED running light on the back of my Rogue and wonder if anyone knows where I can tie the hot wire into so the new light will come on when the ignition is turned on? The only thing I can think of is the trunk light wire before the switch. Does this sound correct ? Or any other ideas?

Well just took the trunk light wiring apart and that will not work. It is ALWAYS hot even with car off. I guess I should have figured that out because when you open the trunk with the car off it lights up. So any ideas out there???

Since you found a good electric source, why not put a switch on your line, like that you can turn in on or off when you want.

I thought that is what you wanted to do.

If you want the light to come on when backing up, just plug it to the back up wiring.

I am not sure I understood correctly what you want to achieve.

I want the leds to come on with the ignition so it becomes a rear red daytime running light strip. If I use the trunk light wire it's always hot even with the ignition off, so I would have to run a switch up to the dash so I might as well just run the running light wire up to the fuse box .
