On the left you see the body harness for a 1990 B12 Sentra.

On the right you see the engine compartment harness from a 89 Pulsar that had a CA18DE. I have to figure out what each of these wires goes to so I can wire these two sets plugs together...

Does anyone have any wiring schematics of these plugs for both vehicles?

They also have a different number of wires, what is done with the extra ones?

You're going to have to find a sentra/pulsar manual from Chilton to even begin trying to sort through that headache. Unfortunately, no here has a CA18DET in a B12 sentra, so you're not going to get the help you need from the sentra's standpoint. Hopefully you're going to use the RWD harness because if not, you're in for some headaches. Back in the days (1997-2001), my sentras were impregnated with CA16/18DE and finally the CA18DET via the complete harnesses, mechanical and electrical components from a KN13 pulsar, with the DET getting re-worked DE ECUs done by JWT. I would be the guinnea pig, but it eventually worked pretty good. In order to pull this off, you're going to need that manual I spoke of earlier in this post because without it, you're firing in the dark.

I am likewise doing this swap using a KN13 Pulsar everything. The engine is in, vacuum lines all hooked up (even the butterflies), and all the engine compartment is wired. I have no way of getting a RWD harness - does it plug straight in or something?

All I lack is these blasted connectors...I have a chilton's book on sentra's and pulsar - but neither show these plugs and on the Pulsar only about 1/3rd of the wires match colors.

I found out today that one of the three plugs will plug straight in - are all those wires correct in the one that plugs together?

Also, what about the difference in number of wires in the other two plugs?

There is all the wiring diagram I could find for your quest. This is for a nissan pulsar 87 1.6 CA16DE engine.

This is for a Nissan pulsar 88 1.8 CA18DE engine.

And finaly a Sentra 90 Wiring diagram, for the 2 first I am 200% sure it's perfect.

igot a quick question

just finished a CA swap into my s13...so im new to the CA fam bam...hi.....

and my tach isnt working...

it was a SOHC chassis...and yes my cluster is converted to a DOHC s13 cluster...everything else works..temp,fuel,tach....just not my speedo...it just stays at zero...

i read on the other thread that i can swap a KA speedo sensor in the transmission...question is...what year?

and if that doesnt fix it...could it be a wire from harness to cluster plug on the right side...and if so i know that the wire on the harness is what Yellow / Green stripe right?

is it the same for the wire in the car...?

thanks for the hellp and much appreciated

yellow with red stripe from memory..

that's the ECU to the tacho. I don't think the gearbox sender has anything to do with tacho.

Yea, that was confusing. Is that tach not working, or the speedo? Are you sure it was a 91+ cluster?

Thanks for the info guys, I bought a service manual for the Sentra and Pulsar and rather than connecting the two plugs, I just stole the whole harness back to the tail lights from the Pulsar...

I had to re-wire the Hazard light plug, speedometer, headlights, turn signals, and now I'm working on the rear defogger. The problem is that the Pulsar defogger is a mechanical switch and the Sentra one is electronic. In other words I can't hook up a meter to find which wires it connects when it turns on...Once I finally finish this I can start putting the car back together...

Anyone know anything about wiring in the electronic defogger switch into an electric switch?
