wiring harness

ok so i have my s13 project car going. sr20det with few upgrades such as pistons rods camshafts bigger forged and bored out block red top aftermarket headers , new gaskets, turbo charged, greddy bov,. the works. finally go the transmission and a one piece drive shaft. just need a wiring harness. now the question is. do i really have to get a certain wiring harness for my sr20det or can i use the one that comes factory? if not which wiring harness is recommended? ive heard megasquirt is pretty good but when i try to find out some info through the posts,,,, nada. cant find anything ive tried google for help but all it does is bring up websites to buy them especially through ebay which to me is very sketchy. any help?

Not quite sure what you're asking, but you need a harness for an SR20 to run it. There are some modifications that you have to do to plug into the chassis harness for a car that came with a KA, but it's really minimal.

As far as megasquirts go, they are set up as universal computers and require a lot of knowledge from the user to get them up and running properly. If it was a Miata or something else much more common to a megasquirt, I'd say have at, but 240's aren't all that common and need a fair amount of modification to the computer board to get close to a running set up. I'd probably steer you toward something tried and true like a chip tune or someone that has a plug in ecu like AEM or Link.

Ok so since my ecu is chipped all I should need is a harness and tunning ?

If it's chipped for the mods you have, it might not need any tuning at all. As far as wiring harnesses go, check out wiring specialties, they offer new plug in harnesses so you don't have to do any wiring at all to make it work.
