Ok guys, I was looking through my wiring harness and found this. Could someone help me identify what wire this is and where it's going to and if it's necessary for a proper install or if I would have to get a new one or something.

I know it's behind the firewall...

If you do not have both a big blue pluge for the ECU and the smaller white plug on the interior-end of the firewall rubber grommet than that would have been the white plug. I always cut on the other side of the plug so you have something to work with but you could do the reverse by sacrificing the plug off your KA harness.

I think that is a wiring harness for an automatic and that was the plug for the control unit before it got chopped off.

Wire nuts? HAH~!!

MY harness I rebuilt because it had wires twisted together and taped all over the place, not even wire nuts, much less crimp connectors. Heaven forbid someone actually soldered anything.

Thanks for clarrifying it guys. It's the thing for the automatic thing that someone mentioned. I have both the white plug and the blue one for the ecu. So I'm assuming my CA came from an auto, and that explains the no transmission...

sounds like wiring specialties work. formerly heavy throttle.
