Wiring Harness question

My Versa also doesn't have radio and I am planning to install an aftermarket radio. I read the article on http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=227206. It was very helpful. Following the suggestions in other forums, I purchased a wiring harness since I don't want to cut the original wiring..

I have installed radios several times on other cars but still I don't think I have that much experience.. If I am missing something basic please don't be harsh on me.. So, my question is: My harness has 11 wires on it. 8 for speakers, 1 for ignition, 1 for 12V, 1 for amp. But there is no black wire for ground.. Is my harness missing a wire, because the radio I have has a black wire for ground?

Just ground the wire to a unpainted metal surface on the car and all should be well.

Ground the aftermarket wiring harness ground wire to the chassis. As I recall when I installed my deck, there was no ground wire on the OEM harness to connect to.

The factory HU was grounded using its chassis and metal brackets, that why there is no ground wire in the harness.

ground the ground wire from the deck harness to the metal bar that is behind the radio, use a star washer and a self tapping screw to do it like the pros

Hi. I have the same grounding problem.Where is the metal bar behind the radio?I looked all over inside of my dash and only saw plastic.Thanks in advance for the help!

If you dont see the metal bar just extend your wire and run it to the kick panel area and ground it there
