I'm a little confused on the harness part of the swap. I plan on sending my harness to a service to have it converted, but what exactly do they do? Will I be using the uncut SR harness that comes with the motor or will I be reusing my KA harness? Why do I need to send them both harnesses and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

Thanks in advance.- Jay

For wiring service you send them the upper SR20 harness (ie ECU harness) and I "think" your KA lower harness (aka starter/battery harness). I did the RB20 swap and you are "supposed" to use the RB20 upper and lower harnesses, but we mixed the KA and RB20 lower harness together......after all my rambling, you send the SR20 ECuharness adn KA lower harness. Get confirmation though. I am not too knowledgable on teh SR20, but I have read a little about the wiring

You use the KA lower harness (just take the two sensors off your KA transmission. And then for the engine harness, they only need 1 or 2 plugs, IIRC. The main one is the dash harness. That one, they must use from the KA, and I think there is one or two up by the battery. I could be off though. And then they just lengthen the AFM and o2 wiring and then rewire a few plugs by the battery and you're done.

When you say the lower harness, is that everything below the battery and the fuse box that connects up to the transmission and oil pressure sender, etc.?

The upper harness is like a big Y with one part of the Y going to to the top of the motor and the other part of the Y going to the battery with two plugs over there. The stem of the Y goes to the ECU right? And I have to send them the dash harness? Where is that located?

Thanks for help.- Jay

You'll send them everything attached to the blue ECU plug from the SR and the KA

The dash "harness" is just a plug that goes straight up into the dash of the 240. I had to pull down my glove box to get to it. You can do that without any tools though. When you try to take the KA harness out of the car you can't miss it.

Ok Rob,I pulled the complete harness attached to the blue ecu plug last night. That one was the BIG Y harness with one part going to the top of the motor and the other part going to two connections over near the battery through the firewall. Great!

So the wiring connected to the transmission, oil pressure sender, etc. I do not have to do anything with? And they don't need the dash harness? I'm sure I can confirm all this when I call to have the service done.

Thanks.- Jay
