Ok here goes...
The guy that owned this car before me cut a lot of wires in the dash and up front. When he sold the car to me, the gauge cluster did not light up, the odometer and trip did not work either. This guy had some wierd stuff wired up...I just thought i'd exchange the dash wiring harness... I did that and car wouldn't start... so then, I went to the Junkyard and found a 93(same year as mine) 240sx with a trunk... (I have a hatch) I took all the wires from the driver and pass seat up... I had to cut it where it ran along the left side of the driver seat underneath the carpet. I figured i'd just wire the tail lights and fuel pump in later. Fast forward a couple days and I have the new harness in... There are some connectors that I have never seen before in the engine bay, I figured that they just plugged up to useless stuff that I didn't have on the car anymore. I was in a hurry to see if I had ignition power and I connected everything but the wires to the rear of the car... just tail lights and fuel pump, right? Anyway, I plug in my instrument cluster and try to turn it over.. I hear a click coming from the fuse panel... I'm really frustrated and I don't even know where to start checking for a problem. I noticed by the ecu that the guy before me had done a lot of wire cutting there ... could the ECU wiring be configured to work with the ****ty cut up harness that was on there.. ? Hopefully not, can someone tell me where I should start?
