alright..i just pulled jovan's CA harness out and laid it out along with the KA one...

i thought of how many ways or the best way possible to extend the harness...

so i got an idea..

Step 1: take the CA harness and flip it to fit the gromet inlet on the fire wall

Step 2: cut/shorten and reconnect the injector harness and extend the coil pack plug

Step 3: slice and pull back all of the wires and plugs that belong on the ignitor plug side besides the ones that go by the battery

Step 4: cut the plugs and wire from step 3 and extend it in one bunch, in front of the car on top of the shroud like the KA, or behind the motor along the fire wall and around to the ignitor side

Step 5: tape everything off and check for connections and length

this was a thought process that made me sit in jovan's driveway staring at the harness for quite some bit of time :thinker

it's kinda rough...but i hope you guys get the idea...i will try to post pics and diagrams of what im talking about

basically...im trying to make the harness like the KA onewithout having to extend the bulk of the harness and doin the smaller sized and less wires to extend.

let me know what you guys think...

thanks

jimmy(i've learned more about this CA in the past week than i have with my KA24DE......err....hahaha:pface )

My harness turned out like this without doing anything but extending the MAF wires (red tape)

The ign chip and drop resistor along with 95% of the harnes was on the passenger side. You can see in the pic where the ign chip is and the drop resistor is a bit further upfront (infront of the fuse box). The coil harness was the perfect lenght and the O2 sensor connector was fine going behind the motor. Then ofcourse I extended the MAF wires and they went around the front of the motor.

did you have a lot of excess wiring from your injector harness that you had to cram in there or fit behind the motor? that is what im trying to avoid...

we are also putting the ignitor on the drivers side....where it was on the clip.

if i do what i mentioned up top, 80-90 percent of the wiring harness will be on the passenger side....i just dont' want to cram everything over there..

so the shorting of the injector harness and extension of the ignitor harness and drop resistor and maf will be the things that i will be doin to the wiring harness..

thanks for the pic and your setup....i've been waiting for someone to tell me how they did theirs..

Yea, injector harness was fine.

Oh and a warning, If your not running the turbo/exhaust shield, make sure the ign chip and all the wires that you move to the drivers side dont go anywhere near the exhaust. Someone on here melted their wires that way.

thanks for the advice...i figured since that was where it was originally from teh clip i should mount it in the same spot.but i'll make sure that it stays clear of the manifold and heatshieldwe are still planning on keeping the heatshield on it..

oh, but on the positive side, it makes it dead easy to mess with if something goes wrong.
