I just purchased a 2008 versa and need to put an aftermarket radio in so I can hook up my ipod. Is there anything available yet?

You can get the harness at best buy probably. And the mounts you can get online. I had an audio place do my install (I didnt want to mess anything up) so Im not sure where they got their parts but Ive seen the dash kit online, I dont remember the site but when I do ill post it. And for the wiring harness, best buy at the time I got mine done (8 months ago) they didnt have sqwat for the V. But I took it to my friends audio shop and they had everything.

If you buy from crutchfield.com any radio over $130 comes free with mounting kit and wiring harness. Besides that crutchfiled is a excellent company with good customer service. Just tell them what year/make/model and body style your car is and they'll show you radios that will work in your car. For an '07 versa hatchback they show about 120 different models that come with free installation kits.

bob has the harnesses you need, but doesnt sell the headunits...

check out crutchfield.com... they have great car audio... if you want bang for the buck... i would recommend an alpine headunit... i have the CDA-9886 and its amazing....

if your upgrading your stereo you might wanna upgrade your speakers... the headunits give out more power then the stock ones... so your stock speakers will distorted MUCH easier and MUCH more.

if you dont wanna do the whole headunit thing... you could get one of those Drive+Play's (1 or 2), Alpine has an external control unit, and there are a bunch of options, check out crutchfield... click on "live chat" and they can help you out... let us know how it goes

One last option (and this all depends on what you're looking for) will give you everthing you need, but will also put a Nissan stock stereo in your dash, making your car unattractive to thieves.

You can see if someone is selling off the stock head unit from a Versa SL (6-disc changer) and then get the Nissan iPod interface for this unit (see the information center/tutorials page off of the nissanversa.org home page). You will then have the better of the stock stereos, an iPod interface controllable through the stereo controls, and a stereo that a car prowler isn't going to look at twice.

There... between all of these replies, your options have all been laid out there.

On that note of the stock SL radios. Are the S model radios worth anything?
