Wiring gremlins, need some advice

Ok to start off, the car runs great! But my clearance/illumination circuit has a short somewhere. I have high beams, blinkers, and brake lights. No interior illumination, parking lights, tail lights, or low beams. I'm in the process of checking everything on that circuit, but advice is welcome

Next thing, my dummy lights come on and flicker like the alternator isn't charging. Battery reads 13.5-14 volts with engine running, so it's charging. Only other thing is the speedometer works, but it starts acting funny when my dummy lights start flickering. What do you guys think, loose ground? Would it be on the alt/trans harness?

Not sure about the first problem. The warning lights flickering on/off usually happens when you're alternator is going like you said. I would take it and get it tested at a parts store just in case. Assuming it's good though, then its either a bad alternator/trans harness or the cluster itself. You wouldn't be the first person to have a cluster start acting funny, the electronics get funky after so many years.

Well my dummy light problem is solved, alternator burned up. Good thing it has a lifetime warranty.

Got the alt. replaced this morning, no more dummy lights and it's charging correctly. Speedometer only works sometimes, along with the odometer, everything else in the cluster is fine. I'm gonna swap speed sensors with the one off my other trans. If that doesn't fix it, new gauge cluster?

Ok guys I fixed both of my problems.

My clearance/illumination issue was a bad ground. I cleaned one ground terminal, and relocated another. One of the two fixed it

My headlight problem was pretty simple, the dimmer switch. My buddy had took it apart to clean it and put the little white slider piece in backwards.
