wiring gauges from ECU

I've heard that you can wire an electrical water temp gauge from one of the wire bundles from the ECU that goes to the OEM gauges. The reason Im asking is that the engine is is in my 510 and I dont see any other way I can wire up a water temp gauge. All input is appreciated. Thanks!

The guages come off a single sensor on the intake, not from the ECM. You will have to install a gauge sensor somewhere in the cooling system.
