where is a good source to wire my fans to so they come on when i turn the car on i have a 97 s14 with a 98 blacktop i was thinking the cigarette lighter but im not sure. I will ground it in the engine bay and have the positive run to something else any advice would be helpful.

oops guessed i didnt use the search button. how exactly did you wire it you grounded it some where on the body and put the positive to the fuse? What happened was i wired it to a switch inside the car that i manually switch on but the switch got burned up i put another one same thing. i put in a fuse in the power line same thing so im not sure what the problem is.

well it depends on the polarity. Fi you want your fan to push or pull. I have one on the feul pump fuse and the other on the negativve battery side

use a brown 4 terminal relay from any nissan and wire the relay terminal 3 to the battery with the same gauge wire the fan has in it add a 30 amp fuse to this line. wire terminal 5 to the fan power side. wire terminal 1 for the relay to the positive battery terminal with a 5 amp fuse and run terminal 2 to a light duty switch inside the car and then run the other side of the switch to a ground source. when you flip this switch it will turn on the fan and the draw through the switch will be very minimal since it is only the relay that is drawing amps. the fan circuit will have the beefer fuse and wiring. the shorter the wire in the fan cicuit the better. The switch circuit isnt a big deal so locate the relay somewhere near the front of the car. wiring schematic to come gotta make it first.

cut out the 5 amp idea just run both circuits from one fused power source as the diagram is drwn out. dont go by the picture on the top of the relay use the numbers stamped inside the relay next to the terminals. when you go to get this relay from the wreakin yard make sure to get the relay socket with a couple of inches of the wires to so you have something to plug into.

and btw its not german its japenese and is exactly as the electric fans are wired in other nissans but insted of the ecm grounding the relay your switch is

well i tried to post the diagram but once again it says its too big and if I make it small enough to post it wont be legiable. I do not have any where to post it on the net to link it to this post that is reliable so i guess your gonna have to figure it out in your head unless you want me to email it to ya?

i just finished dual electric fans on a cherokee. i ran a positive enable wire from the switched accesory lead in the fuse box to a relay, from there i ran positive from the battery through a 30 amp fuse, to the relay, parallel through both flex-a-lite's and ground through a temperature sensor i mounted in the upper coolant hose [adjustable temperature] with the control box mounted to the radiator support, and grounded to the chassis.
