Alright, so im getting ready to drop my motor in (actually, drop my car ONTO).. But first I need to know what each and every connector is doing.

The lower engine harness has been cut, and I am not sure what these two connectors are for. I know that part of the loom contains things such as the reverse signal, speed signal, oil pressure, and oil temperature, and the start signal.. But why do these extra connectors exist that do not go back to the main engine harness? I have the suspicion that one of them may be the brake level sensor since it is on the right side of the engine (Japanese driver's side).

Any clues/hints as to what they may do. I am going to further peel back the tape and see if I can discover anything else.

Also, should there be an oil temperature sensor located to the right of the oil filter? Am I missing it? [that would blow chunks]

And finally, may as well kill two birds with one stone. The engine start signal, is it given via the ecu and pin #43?. This goes to the starter relay, yes?

And finally here are the pictures.

First, $300 is WAAAAY too much for some wireing that takes maybe 5 hours at most!

The start signal to the ECU can come from the tiny starter wire.

As for the transmission wireing. The skyline uses an aditional sensor on the transmission for overdrive, you dont need that. There is also a few wires for the LSD unit that you dont need.

No, you are not missing an oil temp sensor there should be only that one pressure sensor there. Those wires may be from one of the knock sensors??? Look at the colors and check the ECU pinout to find out if they were important LOL. If not get rid of em.

I cant just send the wiring harness away, as the car is Pre-OBD and its a 200sx (Not a 240sx)... This swap has never been done before, and thus I am finding more and more barriers I need to break down.

Hicas control and overdrive sound like a possibility, but the only 2 connectors on the transmission I believer are the reverse sensor, and the speed sensor.

Does anyone have a good pinout for an R33 cluster? One that doesnt just use COLORS of wire (I am colorblind).

Ive got the ECU pinout with wire routing if that would help but it isnt too clear on the dash stuff.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the RB25? If not, you NEED to find it in order to wire you car. It's especially important if you are wiring it into a car that hasn't been exploited before. As for the lower harness, there is a writeup on Racebread showing the lower harness prep. It recommends using the stock 240 harness (which will be a little different for your 200, but probably not much).

Here's the link to the files section http://www.racebread.com/files.htm

Check it out if you haven't already. Very useful site

I believe the big black connector goes to the wiper motor... It's white on mine. I think the second one goes to the lower wiring harness. Which is two knock sensors and... Woops... I forgot. You have a series I or II engine?

Series 2 RB25det.

I think I *may* have it figured out. I am merging the new wires onto the old harness, and then routing them to their respective homes (Mostly alternator/starter stuff). Those connectors do mostly have to do with drivetrain, and most simply dont have a home, and brank into another joint connector (which I assume would take them to the ECU).

Crunch time, need to get everything in by this weekend for Sport Compact Drags. She'll be ghetto rigged... I havent even begun with intake piping.... Nor is the engine in yet..
